Transcendent Photography

Garrett and I want to start a photography business. We have wanted to for awhile, but now it seems as though it might be a reality. I was hired to be the photographer for a wedding over Christmas break. It was my first real photography job on my own (I used to work for Dorian photography). It was so much fun! I want to do more weddings! So, now that I have some expirience I am hoping that will open some doors.
We have named our business: Transcendent Photography. So, in the future if you ever need a photographer just let me know! :)
Here are a couple of pictures from the wedding:

The Rain, The New Semester, and The Three Day Weekend

It has been so cold and rainy here ever since we got back from Boise! I really do not like the dreariness that the rain brings. This next week is supposed to be the coldest week of the winter! I am preparing myself for that...
Besides the terrible weather, it has been a really good week. Garrett and I went through our first week of school for the new semester and really like our classes. The classes I am most excited for are psychology and socialization factors in relationships! They seem very interesting and I have great professors for both of them!
The new semester brings a lot harder classes and a lot busier schedule then last semester. I was a little concerned and worried about this at first, but I think that it will just make the semester go by faster! :)
We had a three day weekend this week (today is the last day of it) and it was very much needed! We had such a fun weekend and we still have tonight to fit in some last minute "fun-having" haha!
Here is somewhat of what my weekend looked like:
*Caught up on house work and dishes
*Finished homework due on Tuesday and Wednesday
*Had a night alone and watched a girly movie by myslef and worked out.
*Went shopping at the mall and got a really cute shirt for $3.90!
*Went out to lunch with my hubby
*Had an awesome church service on Sunday! Praise the Lord!
*Went to Salem to spend some time with Garrett's fam. We went out to lunch and out to see The Bucket List in theatres while we did laundry at their house!
*And today we are just hanging out, playing a new video game we got (thanks mom!), and relaxing!
Oh, I am just not quite ready for another week of school and work...and rain!! But, I can't complain. Just look at what a great weekend I had! haha.

Working it Out

I know that it seems like everyone and their dog makes a New Year's resolution to lose weight or start working out or eat healthier...and then it becomes just another thing on the endless "To-Do" list. So, that is why I didn't make a New Year's resolution. But, I did make a goal; something that I am determined to do and something that I fully plan on accomplishing. I don't necessarily want to lose weight, but I do want to be healthy and look good. So, I am going to start doing some light weight lifting, ab workouts, and cardio workouts 4 days a week. Garrett works the same 4 evenings every week, so I thought that would be a perfect time to do my workouts. It will be consistent (on the same day and same time) every week. I also, want to start eating healthier, but that isn't as realistic. You see, I absolutely LOVE food and could not give up my cheeseburgers, french fries, and chocolate candies! Plus, every time that I mention anything about trying to eat healthier Garrett freaks out! It is kind of funny. So, our diet might take a little longer to adjust to a real healthy level. haha. Anyways, I just got done doing my first work out of many more to come and am very excited. I wanted to share my goal with all of you in hopes that I will remain dedicated to it. :)

Christmas Break was Wonderful!

Garrett and I just got back to Portland from Boise this weekend. We had such a great time in Boise with our family and friends! We were able to be home for 2 weeks, which was SO nice. We really needed the break. We stayed with Garrett's parents in their guest bedroom- thanks you guys for opening up your home for us! :) We were able to spend Christmas Eve with my dad and family, Christmas morning with Garrett's fam, and Christmas afternoon and evening with my mom and family. It was definitely a busy couple of days, but it was worth it to be able to spend time with everyone.
After Christmas I had my first job as a wedding photographer. It was on a Friday evening and was a great wedding to do for my first photo job. The pictures turned out great. Garrett was my assistant and had an additional camera...between the two of us we took 1,000 pictures! Now I am going through them all and editing the ones that need it. Anyways, it was a great opportunity and a lot of fun.
On New Year's Eve Garrett's parents threw a great party and the turn out was great. It was so much fun to welcome in the new year with friends and family and a good ol fashion air hockey tournament! :) The funniest part was when we counted down to the new year and when it was midnight all of the little kids blew their horns for about 10 minutes straight! haha. It was hilarious.
The next day I was able to go out with my lovely girl friends and see P.S. I Love You...what an amazing movie! I absolutely loved it. I was crying and laughing basically the whole time. I can't wait to own that one.
The whole two weeks were so relaxing and fun. We mostly just hung around the house, played games, watched movies, went shopping, and spent time with loved ones. It was a really really great Christmas break.
Now I am just unpacking, cleaning the apartment, stocking up on food, and getting ready to go back to work tomorrow. Wish me luck. :) I miss you all already....
Here are some pictures from the two weeks - enjoy!
