SpRiNg BrEaK 2008!

We had a wonderful 5 days with my mom and brothers over spring break!
Tuesday: They arrived about 4:30 PM. We spent most of this day searching for my mom's one and only car key...that is right it got lost about half an hour after they got here.
Wednesday: We went shopping, and Trenton bought an awesome remote control helicopter... Along with the helicopter was a lot of drama and a really long story, but eventually it all worked out and now it is a really fun toy. My mom and I took some girl only time and went to IKEA. We found some really great deals and now my mom is in love with it as much as I am! We spent the rest of the night watching Ratitoulle. Late that night found mom's key....praise God!
Thursday: We went to the coast, Seaside to be exact. The drive over was quite interesting. There was sunshine, rain, snow, and hail all during the 2 hour drive to Seaside! We made it safely, though, and ate lunch at Norma's Seafood. Then we spent time going through all the little shops and then looking for shells on the beach. The ocean was so crazy looking...it was all brown! Yuck! We found out later that the brown were millions of little plankton...gross!

Friday: Lazy day of watching movies, playing Catch Phrase, and some more shopping. We also went to the driving range to hit some golf balls. Everyone did really well!

Saturday: We went to the Saturday Market in downtown Portland. The family liked it and they all found something they liked! Matt spent most of his money on these Louisiana spices...yummy!

They left this morning and I miss them already! But I am grateful for the time we had together. It made for a great Spring Break!

A JOYFUL Easter

Happy (late) Easter, everyone! Hope you had a wonderful day celebrating with family the joy that we have in our Risen Savior!
Garrett and I went to his family's house for dinner after our Easter church service. We had a great meal, played some fun card games, and then went and took some beautiful pictures at the Capital building.

I am now excited for my mom and brothers to come up from Boise tomorrow! That means I will have a lot of pictures of my Spring Break with them to come! Have a wonderful Spring Break, everyone!

Life as a 20 Year Old

A lot has changed since my 20th birthday (apprx. 5 days ago). I feel different. I am officially no longer any sort of teen! Yay! Life is more sophisticated and mature as a 20 year old...haha. Yeah right. But really, I like being able to say I am 20.
I had a good birthday. Garrett and I went out to lunch, went shopping, and best of all saw Horton Hears a Who in the theatre. It was such a cute and funny movie! I couldn't believe it but we didn't take one picture that day, so sorry to say I don't have any! :(

Garrett and I just started going to a new church here in Portland. I had been sharing at work about how Garrett and I don't really have a home church here yet and we are having a really hard time finding some place to serve. One of my co-workers at Multnomah goes to Montavilla Baptist Church and invited Garrett and me to come and if we wanted help out in his jr.high ministry. We started going to Montavilla March 2 and then started serving in the jr.high that next Wednesday, the 5th! It was amazing how God worked it all out. We are loving it! Garrett is leading the worship in the jr.high...playing guitar and singing!

Life is going good so far as a 20 year old, and I thank God for it. :)

An early BIRTHDAY gift...

I got this new little addition this last Saturday. It was sort of an early birthday gift for myself! haha. I knew of certain birthday money that I had coming for my birthday and so bought this in advance! (Thank you momma!) I had to buy this beautiful external flash before my birthday (March 16th) because I actually have a photography job the day before my birthday where I will desperately need this baby. I got an opportunity through my work to shoot the Student Aid Banquet for Multnomah donors. The lighting situation will be dark and I knew that with more and more of these opportunites coming up I will really need an external flash, so I got it! I am really excited and it works great! This will be such a help to me in my future photography endeavors!
