Working it Out

I know that it seems like everyone and their dog makes a New Year's resolution to lose weight or start working out or eat healthier...and then it becomes just another thing on the endless "To-Do" list. So, that is why I didn't make a New Year's resolution. But, I did make a goal; something that I am determined to do and something that I fully plan on accomplishing. I don't necessarily want to lose weight, but I do want to be healthy and look good. So, I am going to start doing some light weight lifting, ab workouts, and cardio workouts 4 days a week. Garrett works the same 4 evenings every week, so I thought that would be a perfect time to do my workouts. It will be consistent (on the same day and same time) every week. I also, want to start eating healthier, but that isn't as realistic. You see, I absolutely LOVE food and could not give up my cheeseburgers, french fries, and chocolate candies! Plus, every time that I mention anything about trying to eat healthier Garrett freaks out! It is kind of funny. So, our diet might take a little longer to adjust to a real healthy level. haha. Anyways, I just got done doing my first work out of many more to come and am very excited. I wanted to share my goal with all of you in hopes that I will remain dedicated to it. :)

Yes, I've been hitting the treadmill harder too! Do you have someplace at the apts you can workout or is it at the school?
Eating healthier is always a goal I have. It's tough when you crave something unhealthy! Baby steps - I'm going at it in baby steps.:)

Hi honey. I'm proud of you for giving it the old college try . . . get it? haha I only got about 4 hours of sleep last night so my mind isn't working too well today! I thinking I'll join a club to work out. It's so hard with everyone home all of the time. We'll make sure we support each other in our goal of better health! Love you. Mom

good luck with your new goals. it is so hard to stick with it but having garrett work the same days will be a huge help. i agree with dionna. start with working out and then maybe...possibly you can think about changing your eating habits ;) bad food just tastes so much better.

Yeah, I will definitely need to take it in baby steps! I just really love greasy, sugary, and fatty foods too much! Plus, when you are on the go all the time with the job and college it is hard to eat healthy...it is much easier and cheaper to just stop by a McDonald's on the way home!
