How Sad

Why do people have to get sick?! I hate it! I feel like I have not been completely healthy since Christmas! I just went into the doctor today and I have another sinus infection. I am now on an antibotic, so I am thankful that I will start to get better soon.
It has been really hard feeling so sick my first full week working at Hallmark. I am really liking this job. The people are nice, I am getting enough hours, and I love the stuff at Hallmark! I want to buy everything! I do get a 20% discount, so that is nice. :) Garrett has actually bought more from Hallmark than me! haha. But, it was mostly FOR me.
I am feeling a little lonely right now. I have been home alone since 5:00 and I can't do much since I don't feel well. Garrett is out having fun with kids from the youth group. They passed out flyers for the Easter service at church, then they went back to the church and had pizza, and now they are bowling. :( I wish I didn't have to miss it.
Anyways, enough complaining from me. I better go lay down...

Happenings...

So many things have been going on lately. We recently got back from Springfield, MO. Which was a great trip. We headed back to work, my birthday was Friday, and I have been looking for a different job. I just got this job at Lone Star and unfortunately it isn't working out. I am not getting enough hours and I do not like how the co-workers treat eachother. Anyways, I had an interview at Hallmark today. Garrett works at a Hallmark warehouse and his "connection" got me this interview. I am glad to say that I got the job and she actually started training me on the spot! I also go in tomorrow, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday to train. I am so thankful to God! He is so faithful and keeps providing.
I think that Hallmark will have a much better enviornment. I won't have to deal with a lot of swearing, people spreading rumors about eachother nonstop, people coming in to work hung over, and customers drinking and being angry! I didn't like serving people alcohol, because I don't feel it is good to drink (even if you are of age.) I just felt like some of my values were being compromised by working there.

So, I just wanted to take a moment to praise God for all that He has done for me! I really don't deserve it, but He keeps on being faithful...I am so grateful we serve a faithful God!

Anyways, tonight Garrett and me are going to my dad's house for a BBQ to celebrate my birthday that was on Friday. I am feeling a little nervous, because I haven't been to that house since my wedding. I have seen my dad and talked to him, I just haven't been to the house. I hve a lot of hard memories from that house and I am afraid that everything will feel tense being there. God has done a lot in my heart since I have been married: my heart has softened towards my dad and step mom, I am learning to forgive them, I feel like I have a real home for the first time since my parents have been divorced, and I am happy. I just pray that things go well tonight. I am sure that they will, I just tend to worry. I need to hand this over to God and trust Him with it.

Anyways, I just needed to vent a little and update everyone on my endless job happenings... :)

Thanks for listening and I will write again soon!

March 16, 1988

Today is my birthday! I turned 19 today at exactly 2:38 P.M. For some reason I was really excited for this brithday. I didn't have anything big planned or anything. I just think that I am glad that I don't have to say I am married and 18 anymore! haha. Anyways, I want to share some of my day with you. :)

I had the opportunity to sleep in this morning...but didn't. I got up at about 7:30 and opened my presents from Garrett. He got me some body wash, a really cute key chain that says "live*laugh*love," a High School Musical card that when you open it it plays the song "Breaking Free," and "The Office: Season two DVD!" I was so excited!

Then we went to breakfast/lunch at Sonic and headed off to Best Buy to look at SLR digital cameras. I am getting one with my birthday money so I wanted to compare. I think I have settled on the Canon Rebel XT. I have had Canons my entire "photography life" and am comfortable with them. Anyways, then we went to a park to play frisbee, but the sprinklers went off while we were there! There are so many people out today because of the great weather. So, we ventured back home and watched one of the four discs of The Office.
Now, we are relaxing a bit and are going to leave soon to put in our names for dinner tonight. My awesome home team gave me a gift card to The Cheesecake Factory and so we are eating dinner there tonight. The only thing is that they do not accept reservations and there is usually a two- three hour wait! Can you believe that? Anyways, I am really excited.

Last night my home team had a little party for me and another girl in home team, Brittany. We both have the same birthday! Anyways, we had a BBQ with hamburgers, hot dogs, salad, and chips. They even got a cake for us! They're so sweet.
Oh yeah, for those of you who thought I had to work this morning, I did, but got it off and Garrett's boss told him he could have the day off too. How nice, huh! Well, that is my day so far and I am really enjoying it! What a great day!

Missouri Trip

We just got back from Springfield late last night. It was such a great trip! First of all we had so much fun! It was like the "old gang" was all together, but in a different place! I stayed in Jessica and Kate's dorm with Felicia and let's just say that we didn't sleep much! We were able to go to a few of the college classes with them and see what that was like. We went out to eat to places I have never been! I love eating out, but can't afford it...so that was a real treat! We also just had fun being all together again! But besides the fact that it was a fun trip it was a learning experience. The main reason we went down to Missouri was to attend a youth pastor's conference. We listened to a few speakers, listened to the band "Less of Me", and saw a drama team. Keith spoke one of the days about interns (which is what Garrett and I are)...Keith did really good. The last night of the conference was so great. God spoke to my heart and I left feeling encouraged and passionate about ministry! I am so thankful that Garrett and I had the opportunity to go on this trip. God grew both of us and rooted in both of our hearts the desire the serve Him vocationally. I also thankful that I have a husband who loves the Lord and who supports me and encourages me in what God is calling me to do. One of the great things about this trip is that the group I went with really grew closer. I liked how it was only the 4 of us with Keith and Chrisanna...it was more intimate. I loved going on youth group trips and events, but this was so nice being able to grow and have fun with eachother without stressing and worrying about all the other kids. I am sure Keith and Chrisanna know what I mean! :) God really did amazing things in my heart this weekend! I am just so thankful!

~ Thanks Keith and Chrisanna for opening this door for us to grow closer to God! I love you guys!

Leaving...

I am leaving in two days for Missouri. I am really excited! I am going down with 5 other people: Garrett, Phil, Randall, my youth pastor and his wife (Keith and Chrisanna.) We are going to a conference for pastors which Keith is speaking at and he has put most of it together! Also, we are going to visit the college there, BBC. My best friends, Katie and Jessica, go to college there and I get to stay in the dorms with them. It is going to be so much fun! I can't wait!
Tomorrow night I have to work and I am a little nervous that I will have to stay late, because our flight leaves at 6:30 in the morning! I am going to be really tired! I just want to share with all of you my excitement and ask for prayers as we go down there. I am a little nervous because I have heard some talk of tornados...Katie and Jess actually had to wake up in the middle of the night and run to a safety shelter because there was a tornado warning! Please pray for our safefty!! Thanks so much and I will write when I get back!

In Christ's love,

Angela
