The Lake

Garrett and myself joined the high school group at Broadway for a lake day as part of their missions trip to Boise. We had a great time! It was such a beautiful day! Garrett took me on the jet ski a couple times and almost threw my off! It was a lot of fun, though. :) I also went on a few boat rides and just laid on the dock trying to get a tan. :) Garrett went wake boarding which he hasn't done for a LONG time. He hasn't done it since I have been friends with him...so it has
been awhile. Right before he went he told me I probably will only go once and won't go outside the wake. Well, as you can tell by the picture that didn't happen! He actually did some jumps and landed them! I was very proud. :) It was a great day with the group and I am sure they needed the break from all the hard work they had done.

These are some pics from Matthew's 17th birthday. We went out to lunch at The Pantry and then went bowling. We all had a lot of fun together. The first game I bowled a 106 and the second game....42! What happened?!? I have no idea. I just got tired I guess. haha. Anyways, Matt said he had a great day and I am glad for that.

that planning bridal showers were not stressful! I am so stressed out about Kate's bridal shower tomorrow. I still need to come up with a few games and get stuff to make a strawberry shortcake. Hardly anyone has let me know if they will be atteding or not, so I don't have any idea of how many people to plan for. It could be between 10 and 40! I am also stressed because it is supposed to rain tomorrow and the location is outside at Ann Morrison park. Also, the covered picnic area I wanted it at is reserved until 4 and after that it is first come first serve. I tried to reserve it this week, but they told me it was too late. Ahhh!!! I just pray it all comes together and that God will provide the location and the people! I just want Kate to have a great bridal shower. Well, all I can say is please pray for a little miracle with this one...I am not a party planner!

This is Life

I haven't written for some time now! I was on a role for awhile! Well, a couple of things have happened since I have written last. First of all, Garrett and I house/dog sat for the Ivey's for 9 days! It was a hard 9 days....let's just say Garrett and me won't be getting a dog for awhile...if ever! haha.
We recieved our financial aid reward letter. We both recieved more than we needed for tuition, so that was a HUGE blessing! God just continues to bless us again and again!
On Saturday there was a church garage sale and Garrett and me had a "booth." Garrett's parents gave some things to us to sale and my mom gave us a couple things. It was so nice of them! We made way more than I expected we would! Like I said...God is blessing us!
I have been feeling very stressed lately. There are so many changes coming up and so many things that I have to prepare for! If you know me you know that I get stressed pretty easily. I am just trying to keep perspective and give everything fully to God.
I really need to learn to let go! I want to break free from everything that holds me back and pulls me down.
Anyways, I think that we are going to have a girl's night tonight. All the guys are having a Halo night, so us girls are getting together. I am not sure what we are doing yet, but it will be fun! Well, I better go pick up the apartment before tonight.

The BEST day off...EVER!

I the day off on Thursday and decided that I was going to have a great day! And... I did! Garrett and I left the house at about 10:00 am. We decided to ride the scooter because it was such a nice day out. We ran a few errands...went to the bank and the post office. Then we went to the Idaho Cookie Factory. It is new...right off Apple St. We each had a cookie for breakfast. :) I had a snickerdoodle and it was delicious! Then we decided to go to the zoo. It was so busy! There were a lot of kids there on field trips. We had such a great time being outside and seeing all the awesome animals! Just being together was so much fun! After the zoo we rode the scooter around town for awhile. I love being on the back of that scooter. It feels so free! The cool wind just blows and...well, I just love it! It was just a really great day. I love days when I wake up and my first thought is, 'thank you so much for this day God...I am so excited for it!' I also love Boise. It is such a beautiful city. There is so much to see and do. I am really going to miss living here. I will just have to have more days like this one before I leave!

Care Free

I wish that I was a little girl again. I was so carefree! I was free to do what I wanted and to just be me! I really miss that. I loved being a little girl. I would always play dress up and I was pretending all the time. I could be anything! I have just been thinking about that lately, because I feel so far from that free girl that I once was. I have so many responsibilites now and so many things that are weighing me down. Working, money issues, planning for the future, cleaning, and figuring out relationships. It all gets so hard sometimes. I have just been overloaded by stress this past week. Work is really wearing me out. I am working such long days and I got called in to work on my day off on Tuesday. I have to work tomorrow from 9:30 until 7:30...on my feet with only a half an hour break to scarf down my food. Garrett and me have also had something planned every night this week. We even skipped our home team on Thursday because I was just so exhausted. I ended up staying an extra 45 min at work that day waiting for the next girl to come in to take my spot. I was just frustrated and so tired! In addition to this I am stressed with our money issues right now. I know that this happens to every newly wed, and I know God will provide for us, but I still get stressed about it. I just need to keep reminding myself that God is in control and He is my strength...I can get through anything with Him! I know that God will bring me closer to Him in the end.

Anyways, on a positive note...I did something on Monday that I always used to do as a little girl, and that is go shopping with my mom! It was a really nice break. We went out to lunch to Hugo's Deli and then we went shopping. We stopped by Kohls to see what all the fuss was about, but to be honest I was not impressed. Either was my mom...so we left. We went to Vanity Fair which is located in the factory outlet mall. I am so glad we went there! I ended up getting three shirts and my mom got one shirt and a pair of pants and our grand total was $25!! I was amazed! Two of my shirts were on sale for $3 and her pants were $5! It was the best. So, that was a good time this week. I am also looking forward to mother's day...It will be nice to spend some time with family and to have a break from work. I just wish that I was a mom...I know, I know not yet!

Well, Happy Mother's Day to all of you mom's! Have a much deserved wonderful day!

Bridal Shower Worries

This is my best friend, Kate, and her fiance, Bryan. I took this picture of them right after they were engaged in January. They are getting married this summer in July. It is coming up so quickly! I am sure she is feeling overwhelmed...I remember how that feels. But, as the maid of honor I am starting to feel stressed! I mean, I have never planned a bridal shower or bachlorette party before. I have no clue where to start and what to do! I have decided on a place, date, and I have a guest list...and that is it! I still need to make the bridal shower invites. I have all the materials I need, I just need to get around to making them.
I want Kate to have the best memories of this party...maybe I am putting too much stress on myself.
All I know is I can't plan it all on my own. I can't wait until Felicia and Jessica come home so they can help me. Also, if any of you have any ideas for me or input please let me know! I would really appreciate it. :) Thanks!
